- What education have you undertaken to this point in your career?
I started with an undergrad BSc in Human Nutrition (UCD), then decided to do a MSc in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics (UCD) for better employment opportunities, after recovering from that course and gaining a few years clinical experience I decided to finally get around to the sports side of things (which was always the aim!), so I completed a MSc in Sports and Exercise Nutrition (ATU-Sligo).
2. What experience have you accumulated in the field of performance nutrition?
I've done two MSc thesis projects in the IRFU, so I gained some good insight to high-performance rugby. I've also worked with individual endurance athletes, gymnastics clubs, underage national tennis squads, senior intercounty GAA teams, AIL rugby players, and professional jockeys.
3. What one piece of advice would you offer aspiring performance nutritionists or sports dieticians?
Apply for SENR as soon as you possibly can!
